time to say good-bye

My mother passed away peacefully last week.
We were able to grant her wish to keep her at home, right to the very end.

Before her candle went out she lit my candle, and will forever be the spirit within me.

This song was her choice as her message to us all.

    • Even though we were prepared that it was coming, it was very quick, in the end. Selfishly we wanted more time. We are comforted by the fact that it was peaceful in the end, and we are grateful for the last eight months of family togetherness that we had. Thanks for your kind words of support.

  6. I am so sorry to hear about your mother’s passing, Elizabeth. I had her in my prayers, along with a fellow blogger, Luanne Castle’s father.
This was not too long from when you posted, so am relieved not to have come too late to join your friends who are wishing you condolences.
You were the blessing for the whole family to feel relief when you took up caring for your mother. I admire how you shared your time and spent so many hours with your mother. This will always make you feel closer than ever to her, along with relieved you chose to do this. Sometimes, when a special loved one dies, we live with regret. You will have a heart filled with happy memories, along with missing her daily. I am saddened for your loss. Hugs, Robin

      • So glad you expressed this and shared this with us all. We want to support you and be there for you. Have you felt her hugs and whispers that she loves you? I know or believe in this possibility, Elizabeth. Hope it doesn’t upset you to hear the possibility of her angel’s wings blowing by your cheek. Hugs, Robin
